We would like to recognize and honor Ms. Andrea Thomas from Mesa Elementary! Ms. Thomas is a talented 4th grade teacher at MESA Elementary School! Ms. Thomas has been instrumental in bringing in parents to participate in class activities. Ms.Thomas is also involved in the school chess club, the robotics club, and assisted in the science fair held at Mesa Elementary. She leads in the development. teacher training, and implementation of the Daily 5 Learning Component which is an integral part of Mesa's learning system. Ms. Thomas is always will to share best practices, assume leadership roles, and donates her time beyond her contractual time to help students in all areas. Thank you Ms. Thomas for all that you do for our students!
We would like to honor and recognize Rita Riddle from Naschitti Elementary. Mrs. Rita Riddle, who is currently a 4/5 grade classroom teacher at Naschitti Elementary School, has been part of the community for more than 10 years as an educator. She serves on the Leadership Team, as well as the School Testing Coordinator. Mrs. Riddle brings innovative teachings into her classroom by bridging between the western ideologies and indigenous concepts in language, culture, and heritage. She is an asset to CCSD for being a wonderful teacher that fosters caring for student learning. We appreciate having her in the Badger territory!
We would like to honor Mrs. Connie Amurao from Newcomb Middle School!Mrs. Amurao is an exceptional math teacher at NMS and has taught middle/high school math for 17 years. Mrs Amurao serves as the Math Department Chair and also serves on the Core Team. She has experience as a Math Coach, Math Title I Specialist, & School Math representative. She has helped to address the specific needs of her students and has added rigor to the math instruction in the school. She is heavily experienced in technology and has helped directly with analysis of school data. Thank you Mrs. Amurao for all that you do for your students!
We would like to honor Mrs. Linda Smiley from Newcomb Elementary!Mrs. Smiley is very compassionate and dedicated Kindergarten teacher. She uses her data on a daily basis to ensure that her students are getting the specific skills mastered. She is constant communication with her other grade level teacher, EA and Foster Grandmother. Her students are expected to meet her expectations and they respect her, just as she respects them. Thank you Mrs. Smiley for all that you do for your students!
We would like to honor Isabel Adornado from Newcomb Elementary!![]() While children in general need plenty of love and attention from their parents and teachers, children within Newcomb Elementary's Life Skills class are very fortunate to have Ms. Adornado, as their teacher. She has the natural ability of enhancing their learning experience with compassion, acceptance, dedication, enthusiasm, and optimism. Ms. Adornado has both passion and concern for her children and this what makes her an impressive special education teacher. Other qualities that characterize Ms. Adornado are: She is able to love and accept all children as they are and challenges them to get 100% and more. She sees that this is especially important for her children. Regardless of their capabilities or behavior each of her students are unique and worthy of her notice. She knows it is important to respect and treat them as unique individuals with unique needs. We would like to honor and recognize Mr. Brian Paniagua from Shiprock High School! Mr. Paniagua, a long-term veteran and coach of Shiprock High School, is best known for the great relationships he has built with his students while maintaining high expectations for his students in the classroom and in athletics. Mr. P, as he is known by his students, promotes learning through classroom discussions and real world experiences. His students graduate with excellent critical thinking skills that continues to contribute to their post-secondary success, including several who have gone on to Ivy League schools.
Honor Our Teachers would like to honor and recognize and honor Mrs. Catherine Arnold from Ojo Amarillo Elementary!Ms. Catherine Arnold has been a dedicated Special Education teacher for decades. She is the head of the Special Education department at Ojo, and supporter of school-wide culture. Ms. Arnold will be retiring at the end of this school year. We wanted to say thank you for all that you do for our students! Ms. Arnold will be missed dearly!
Honor Our Teachers would like to recognize and honor Mrs. Watland-Wright from Ojo Amarillo Elementary! ![]() After almost 32 years of teaching, Mrs. Wright will be retiring at the end of the school year. Thank you for all that you have done for students at CCSD! Mrs. Wright has taught multiple grade levels, and is currently the Interventionist. Ms. Wright is the SAT Chair, and the primary substitute for the principal. Mrs. Wright will be remembered fondly and missed by the school community. |
