Q and A with Mr. P
What do you love most about Teaching?
The students. I love helping young adults start to realize their potential. I really enjoy helping them to learn that tasks and processes that seem hard or overwhelming can be overcome with the right set of tools and the knowledge how to use those tools. I enjoy the third and fourth quarters of school because often that's where I the students start employing, on their own, the strategies they've learned through out the first and second quarters.
Is there a group of students or a class period that you are particularly proud of and would like to Honor? I
I'm very proud of all of my students. It's quite an accomplishment for any student to make it to their senior year. However, I'm particularly proud of my 4th hour AP World History class. This has been the most enjoyable group of young adults I've had the pleasure of working with. Time and again they have gone far above and beyond what I've asked of them and that makes my job quite challenging and extremely enjoyable. From mock trials to simulations to summits this group is always well prepared. They do an incredible amount of research and are able to bring the characters they are learning about to life. A few dressed up in period costumes and some even practiced talking in accents to add to their presentation when participating in an empire state building summit we had. They are highly self motivated and disciplined. To be quite honest there were times I felt a bit intimidated by them!
Thank You Mr. P for all that you do both inside and outside the classroom!
